Heikki Sorsa is a Finnish snowboarding icon known for his fearless style, technical talent, and unforgettable presence in the sport’s golden era.

He made history in 2001 at The Arctic Challenge, soaring over 9.3 meters (30.5 feet) out of a quarterpipe, setting a world record that stood for years. Over the course of his career, Heikki claimed Multiple World Cup halfpipe & invitational event victories, a Junior World Championship title, and appeared in numerous influential snowboard films, including the popular Cooking With Gas series.

More than his results, Sorsa's lasting impact comes from how he embodied the soul of snowboarding—freedom, individuality, and a love for progression. His legacy continues to inspire a generation of riders who see snowboarding as both an art form and a lifestyle.

Stories through colors

Mohawk Edition is a homage to the 2002 Park City halfpipe event, where, under the spotlight of the world, Heikki rose to global fame—not only for his strong performance in the halfpipe, but also for his now-legendary Mohawk haircut, a symbol of snowboarding’s rebellious, creative spirit. We also have to give credit to Oakley, who provided Heikki with the goggles that perfectly suited the occasion—a moment in snowboarding history that will live on and continue to inspire.
